This is a pre-wedding ritual where the groom's family visits the bride's home to officially welcome her into their fold and bless her. The ceremony includes the following traditional elements:Gift Exchange: The groom's mother and female relatives bring the bridal trousseau, which includes a traditional Mekhela Sador (often white and gold), heavy gold jewelry, cosmetics, and grooming items.Auspicious Items: Gifts are presented on Xorai (traditional bell-metal trays) alongside auspicious offerings like fish, betel nut (tamul), and coconut.Blessings & Welcoming: The groom does not attend. Instead, the women from his family apply vermilion (sindoor) to the bride's hair parting and formally bless her as the future daughter-in-law.

Wedding Ceremony (at Bride's)
Usually two separate celebrations take place parallelly during the first half of the day, one at the Groom's and the other at the Bride's. During this time, guests are attended to by both parties. In the evening, after completing the day rituals separately, the Groom and family travel to the Bride's place (or the designated site) for the wedding ceremony, which lasts for 3 to 5 hours.
